The Mt. St.
Helens experience is very different. You see an awesome demonstration of the
power of nature unleashed, and you also have a chance to witness the amazing
ability which nature has to rejuvenate itself. Mt. St. Helens erupted in May
of 1980, and it is a point of interest for many visitors to this area. On
the east side, at Windy Ridge, one gets a closer view of the crater and of
Spirit Lake. It is well worth taking the time to visit this National Monument.
One comes away humbled by the power of Mother Nature.
